Erica Johnson was born in Ohio and raised in the beautiful town of Chagrin Falls.  Her love of art was apparent at an early age.  She was encouraged and instructed by her mother, Audrey, an artist who specialized in woodburning.

During her high school years, Erica was introduced to a wide range of mediums and crafts.  Erica enjoyed working with ceramics, silversmithing, enameling, print making, drawing and painting.  The school's extensive art department offered exposure to an exciting world

of limitless possibilities.  In 1981, Erica was awarded the Gold Key of Excellence at the Governor's Art Exhibit for a necklace she designed and made.

Moving to the Eastern Shore of Virginia in 1981, Erica continued to expand her interest in the arts.  She opened Cay Design Art and Framing, a Chincoteague gallery and frame shop representing many local artists and featuring her mother Audrey "Dolly" Johnson.

Now concentrating on  framing, Erica hopes to find more time to pursue painting.  Her style ranges from traditional wildlife to the abstract of surrealism.
